Tech shop's focus on domestic customers pays off amid pandemic

A computer shop in Phnom Penh has seen a surge in business over the past year, thanks to its focus on domestic customers.
The shop, located in the city's Toul Kork district, sells a wide range of computers and accessories, from laptops and desktops to printers and scanners. It also offers repair services.
The shop's owner, Mr. Lim, said that he decided to focus on domestic customers after seeing a decline in foreign tourism due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Before the pandemic, most of our customers were tourists,” said Mr. Lim. “But after the pandemic hit, we had to find a new way to make money.”
Mr. Lim said that he has been pleased with the response from domestic customers.
“Cambodian people are starting to buy more computers and accessories,” said Mr. Lim. “They are realizing that computers are essential for work, school, and entertainment.”
Mr. Lim said that he is optimistic about the future of his business.
“I think that the demand for computers will continue to grow in Cambodia,” said Mr. Lim. “More and more people are realizing how important computers are.”
